On 26 February 2025, a meeting of the IKCA working group on determining and approving the composition of the Supervisory, Accreditation, Expert Councils and the Commission on Appeals and Complaints was held. There was one issue on the agenda: «Updating the composition of the Accreditation Council of the IKCA». In full accordance with the Regulations on the Accreditation Council of the IKCA, namely paragraph 3.7 «The term of office of the AC members is three years, and they can be re-elected for a new term», preparatory work was carried out: letters were sent to state bodies (Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Health, public organisations, higher educational institutions of the country), proposals for new members of the Accreditation Council were received. The members of the working group were provided with full information on each candidate in advance of the meeting. During the discussion the members of the working group agreed on the quantitative composition of the Council of 13 persons, the personalities of the Council members who were proposed to be removed from the Council, in particular, those who have worked in the Council for 2 terms, who expressed their personal desire to leave the Council, who have completed their doctoral studies. During the discussion of candidates for new members of the Board, 5 people were selected from 7 candidates, including a member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, two vice-rectors of the leading universities of the country, a representative of employers and a doctoral student of one of the universities of Astana. The members of the working group unanimously approved the updated composition of the Accreditation Council of IKCA. Now the members of the renewed Accreditation Council will have to elect a new Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Secretary of the Council in the nearest future and continue the responsible work on accreditation of educational organisations and their programmes.
