For applicants

Dear applicants and parents!

For the success of your future professional life, it is very important not to make a mistake in choosing an educational institution and your future professions.

Non-profit institution "Independent Kazakhstan Center of Accreditation" (hereinafter referred to as the Center) is an organization with the status of a legal entity, established in the organizational and legal form of a non-state non-profit institution to increase the competitiveness of educational organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the national and international levels through the implementation of procedures for institutional, specialized accreditation and rating research.

By the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Education", only universities that have passed institutional and specialized (program) accreditation can count on receiving a state order for training. Therefore, when choosing a university, an educational program, and, of course, counting on a state grant, you need to make sure that the university and educational program you have chosen is accredited by a recognized accreditation agency.

Having accurate information about the accreditation and rating of the university/educational program, you will be able to determine the degree of trust on the part of the stakeholders and the effectiveness of the implemented educational programs.

Tips for applicants and parents:

• Check the educational program of universities or colleges for accreditation of the educational program you want to choose for admission (you can find it on the website of the university, on the website of the IKCA or other agencies (NAOKO, IAAR) in the "Register" section, and best of all in the Republican register of accredited educational programs on the website of the Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the same time, you should know that the university or program must be accredited for the entire period of your study so that you can freely study under academic mobility programs, enter foreign universities to continue their education, as well as to find a job after graduation and receiving a diploma both in Kazakhstan and abroad.

• It is necessary to check whether the accreditation agency that carried out the accreditation of the educational program you are interested in is included in the Register of recognized accreditation bodies (Bologna Process and Academic Mobility Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan), and whether it is also included in the European Register of Educational Quality Assurance Agencies EQAR. This is important because only the accreditation of agencies that are included in these registers has the status of international accreditation and is recognized in the European Higher Education Area.

• Find out what place your chosen educational program occupies in important ratings of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAOKO, NAAR, NPP "Atameken"). This will help determine the credibility of the program.

• Familiarize yourself with the content of the educational program, its goals, see if it contains disciplines that may be of interest to you.

• See what knowledge, skills and competencies the educational program of your chosen educational institution offers, compare with your parents along with similar educational programs offered by other educational institutions.

• Find on the website of the university information about the teaching staff of the educational program, what significant achievements they have.

• Find out what language classes are taught in, what level of English is required to master the educational program.

• Find out with which foreign educational institutions the educational organization you are interested in cooperates with and what opportunities it can provide for academic mobility and student exchange.
