Training seminar for members of the IKCA Councils December 19, 2024

Independent Kazakhstan Center of Accreditation in accordance with its internal documents is preparing to update the composition of the Councils, which are part of the structure of IKCA. These are the Supervisory Board, Accreditation Board, Expert Councils, Commission on Appeals and Complaints. In this regard, the IKCA management prepared and held a training seminar for the members of all these Councils. In the online mode on the ZOOM platform, the Deputy Director of IKCA, Professor Adilgazinov G.Z. explained the essence and content of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the European Higher Education Area (ESG - THE STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE IN THE EUROPEAN HIGHER EDUCATION AREA), briefly explaining the essence of each of the three parts of these standards.

Then he dwelled in detail on the IKCA accreditation standards developed in full compliance with ESG standards. The professor tried to explain each of the criteria of all 8 standards of specialized accreditation, showing that they take into account important provisions of national legislation in the field of education, the requirements of the Bologna Process in terms of student-centered education, implementation of academic mobility of teachers and students, re-crediting of the results of formal and non-formal education, etc., as well as the requirements of the Bologna Process. Director of the Department of Methodology, Monitoring and Quality Assurance Syzdykov E.K. in his report focused the attention of the members of the IKCA Councils on important procedural elements of accreditation, starting from the preparation of self-assessment reports by educational organizations, external audit of IKCA, preparation of the report by an external expert group. Special attention was paid by both speakers to the strict observance of the Rules of decision-making by the Accreditation Council. Deputy Chairman of the Accreditation Council Ferho S.I. noted the usefulness of this seminar to clarify, deepen the basic procedures of accreditation of IKCA, which will allow more qualitative and effective participation of members of all Councils in activities to ensure the quality of Kazakhstani higher education.
